Getting to KCMO

Fly into Kansas City International Airport (MCI). Southwest usually has some cheap flights. We strongly recommend renting a car to get around; a one-way taxi from the airport may cost more than a rental car. Although: KC just got Uber, if that's your thing.

Accommodations

Jenna & Aaron have reserved room blocks at The Raphael on the Country Club Plaza (Marriott Autograph Collection) and at the Sheraton Suites Country Club Plaza. Why? There's lots to do on the Country Club Plaza, and it's about a 7 minute drive from the venue.

What If I don't want to stay there?

That's cool. We recommend staying in Downtown KC, the Crown Center area, or on the Country Club Plaza. All three areas will be within 10 minutes of the venue.

Got points?
STARWOOD:
The Westin Crown Center is like a 1 minute drive from the venue.
MARRIOTT: Try the Marriott Downtown or The Marriott Country Club Plaza.
HILTON: The Hilton President, Downtown.

What to Chomp / Where to Go (Mostly Chomp)

The Best BBQ: Oklahoma Joes. It's the one in a gas station. Be prepared to stand in line.

The Second Best BBQ: Gates. Not the classiest place, but so delicious.

The Best Part of KC BBQ: Burnt ends, from either of the above places. Trust us.

The Best Ice Cream: Glace Artisan Ice Cream on the Plaza. Go to there.

The Best Baked Goods: Natasha's Mulberry & Mott. Cookies the size of your face. We love the Triple Chocolate Orange and the Chocolate Caramel Sea Salt. And the macarons are perfect. But we'll have those at the wedding.

The Best Brunch: Succotash. It's sort of a dive, but it's exquisite. And so cheap.

The Best Bloody Mary Bar: The Bristol, downtown. Sunday only.

The Best Casual/Local Lunch Spot: The Westside Local. THE FRIES. We can't even.

The Best Supernice Dinner: Bluestem. Worth it. Make reservations, like, now.

The Best Casual Dinner Spot: The Rieger Hotel Grill & Exchange

The Best Fancy Cocktails: The Rieger Hotel Grill & Exchange. Be sure to ask at the hostess stand if there is any room 'downstairs,' and they will help you get into Manifesto, the underground cocktail speakeasy.

The Best Scenic Drive: Go south on Ward Parkway until you reach 75th street or so. Then turn around. The foliage is glorious!

The Best Local Coffee: The Roasterie & Latteland

The Best Museum: The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

The Best Shopping: The Country Club Plaza

The Best Place to Get a KC Strip: Rye (Leawood) or J. Gilbert's (Overland Park)

The Best Place for a Morning Run: The Trolley Track Trail - just off the Country Club Plaza

The Best Peetz: Aaron says Grinder's (NY Style), full of tattooed people. Jenna says SPIN Neapolitan Pizza on the Plaza. We both say Minsky's, where they put cheese on top of the toppings.

The Best Manicure Spot: Polished Nail Salon, Downtown

If you forget your phone charger - or you drop it on the dance floor - there is an Apple Store on the Plaza.
